IND vs AUS 3rd Test Day 1 Highlights: Jadeja stars with 4 wickets, Australia lead by 47 runs at Stumps

The third Test between India and Australia has seen some exciting cricket on the opening day at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Australia started off with a bang with David Warner taking the attack to the Indian bowlers. He scored a brilliant century (112) and was ably supported by Marnus Labuschagne (73) and Steve Smith (55) as the hosts put up a strong score of 338/9 in the first innings.

For India, Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers with 4/62 in his 20 overs. He got rid of Warner, Labuschagne, Smith and Cameron Green in quick succession to bring India back into the game. Jasprit Bumrah and Navdeep Saini also chipped in with two wickets each.

At stumps, India were in a spot of bother with 47 runs behind on the scoreboard. Shubman Gill (31) and Cheteshwar Pujara (5) were the two batsmen at the crease for India.

It remains to be seen how India fares in the second innings and whether they can take the lead in this crucial Test match.
